Question: Do fuels that are plant based for a different amount of time than the other sort?

Keywords: , ,

  1. Plant and algae based fuels can be quite different from those that come from crude oil. The first types of these fuels that were used are called Fatty Acid Methyl Esters (FAME), but there are some problems with these related to their efficiency, stability and reactivity. Newer plant based fuels are refined from the plant oils so the same process is used as for conventional fuels. Depending on the level of processing, the fuel that comes out of the refinery can be virtually the same, regardless of whether the source was plants or crude oil.
