Question: Do you beleive it is right to help the forces? Or do you think that your work may stop them fuel guzziling?

You are right that Defence is a massive user of fuel, but this is exactly why there needs to be research into the way that Defence fuels are consumed. The work done in my lab helps to reduce fuel wastage and also helps to reduce engine problems which decrease fuel efficiency. We are also investigating a lot of different alternatively derived fuels, so that when Defence begin to use these, we will already have a good understanding of how they behave. This information will be useful for civilian fuel users as well.
